About the artist:
Tracey Roberts has, for many years, been a freelance illustrator as well as an accomplished singer-songwriter,
musician and performing artist. (see www.traceyroberts.com.au ).Working also as a graphic designer over this period, it was inevitable that she would eventually combine the many
facets of her creative skills into her artwork using hand drawn illustrations fused with digital styling containing
musical elements or themes.
Her collection of artwork, entitled Resonance, is a limited edition series of original, hand-drawn black and white illustrations which have been digitally coloured and embellished to create rich, vibrant and sensuous visual interpretations of the various effects created by different genres of music as well as particular musical instruments. It is also an exploration into the intriguing world of those gifted with synesthesia.
Through her own diverse experience as a musician and performer, her images are imbued with an acute understanding of all that stems from the synergy created by that magical relationship between instrument and performer.
