Kelly Auty
Kelly Auty and Rocky Dabscheck have both been making timeless roots music for many years and their project K.A.R.D is the combination of their remarkable songwriting and performing skills, with a little help from some of Melbourne's most revered musicians.
K.A.R.D has just secured the support act for Janis Ian and Joan Armatrading in April 2001.Kelly Auty performs regularly in her rock/blues outfit, Kelly, and has also poured her soul out in the duo Gin House with Boris Conley featuring songs from the '20s to the '70s. K.A.R.D is purely driven by the energy of music and showcases Rocky Dabscheck's inimitable acoustic guitar stylings combined with Kelly's soulful, blues-driven voice. Accompanied by piano, backing vocals, percussion, harmonica and drums this act is not to be missed.
"K.A.R.D remain free from stereotyping and offer an earthy, honest fusion of soul, rock and blues which is guaranteed to soothe and warm the coldest of hearts."- Mike Sill, CitySearch

Petronella
Does the world really need another pop singer? In the case of Petra the answer is a resounding YES! Born in Sweden Petra studied classical and jazz performance in Australia before discovering that with the combination of her love for writing poetry and her desire to play the piano she had finally found her real muse. A furious burst of song-writing over the last 18 months culminated in the recording of "PETRONELLA" her first CD. "PETRONELLA" is 5 tracks of strong, ethereal pop music from a sophisticated artist who can sing with a delicious fragility but can also howl with rage. You cannot help being struck by the beauty and strength of Petra's exquisite voice but that voice is not just another "pop product". Petra writes all her own songs; plays a sophisticated piano; utilises beats loops and electronica in a defiantly minimalist style with an absence of overdone pop-production that makes you think this is an artist with years of experience -not a debut performance.
Over the last year Petra has been writing music for Neighbours and MTV and honed her songs through solo piano performances at the Punters Club and The Arthouse.
Maria Forde
One of the most talented Irish Australian singer songwriters in Melbourne is Maria Forde. Maria's love of music was inherited from her Irish parents and she is continuing the tradition of Irish folk music by regularly visiting Ireland where she is also making a name for herself. A regular favourite at venues and festivals around Victoria, as well as numerous TV and radio appearances, Maria has also supported international artists such as the Fureys, Christy Moore, Foster and Allen, Dedannan, Paddy Reilly and Daniel O'Donnell, amongst others. Her first album 'Will you dance With Me' immediately attained high rotation on Melbourne radio and continues to do so. The title track has become enormously popular as a wedding song all over Australia and beyond.
Maria's second album, 'Dark Island' was written in a monastery in Ireland where Maria was living during one of her visits. This album was more successful becoming 'Album of the Week' on Melbourne's 3MP and Ireland's 2FM. 1997 saw the release of 'Dark Island' in Thailand and South East Asia.
Her third album 'Follow the Call' shows yet another side of Maria's music. Featuring a more rhythms sound than her previous albums, it shows her as an artist always looking for new means of expression. 'Follow the Call' won an Australian Song writers Award in 1996 and was released in Japan in January 1998. As a songwriter Maria's future is assured because of her ability to detail everyday experiences with inspiration, passion and melody.
Presently, Maria is recording her fourth album and continues to perform regularly in concerts and festivals around Victoria. Add a beautiful tuneful voice and you have a combination that is a listening pleasure - Maria Forde.
